März in Düsseldorf stattfindet, wird der Bundesverband der Schuh- und Lederwarenindustrie, HDS/L, erneut den HDS/L Junior Award‘ an einen kreative/n Jung-Designer/in verleihen. Auch in diesem Jahr wird der Award im Rahmen einer festlichen Preisverleihung überreicht werden. Das Event findet am 11. März um 11.30 Uhr im Anschluss an die Fashion Show statt. Als Bühne dient erstmals der Gallery Shoes Catwalk.

Der japanische Markt steht für die deutsche Schuh- und Lederwarenindustrie auch weiterhin im Fokus. Anlässlich der 9. Ausgabe der Fashion World Tokyo Autumn (22. bis 24. Oktober 2018) war der HDS/L zum zweiten Mal mit einem Gemeinschaftsstand vertreten. Die Messe verzeichnet Zuwächse: 976 Aussteller aus dem Fashion- und Schuh/Accessoires-Bereich (April: 832) präsentierten ihre Produkte auf 25.690 qm. Die Besucherzahlen lagen mit 19.952 leicht unter der April-Marke (22.000).
