In line with market trends and a growing demand on the part of buyers, the area dedicated to sports and outdoor shoes is back again Milan, 16 January 2020 - After its highly successful debut, the PLAYERS DISTRICT - the area specifically created inside MICAM Milano to provide the variegated world of outdoor and sports shoes with its own exclusive space - will be back at the forthcoming edition of the international trade show, to be held at the Fiera Milano from 16 to 19 February 2020. The PLAYERS DISTRICT is a clear reflection of market trends which indicate that the sports footwear segment is expanding rapidly: in the first nine months of 2019 Italian families, in fact, spent 3.4% more on this type of shoe compared with the same period in 2018, for a total of 750 million Euros in value and 15.4 million pairs sold, +3.0% (source: Confindustria Moda - Italian Federation of Textiles, Fashion and Accessories- based on data from Sita Ricerca). A further consolidation, therefore, following an increase of over 5% in both expenditure and quantity recorded at the end of 2018. Along with sneakers, the sports sector is the only one to show an increase in sales on the domestic market, which has been undergoing a long period of stagnation.

In linea con il mercato e con le preferenze degli operatori in visita, torna l’area dedicata alle calzature sportive e outdoor Dopo l’ottimo riscontro ottenuto al suo debutto, PLAYERS DISTRICT, l’area di MICAM Milano pensata per offrire uno spazio inedito al mondo multiforme della calzatura sportiva e outdoor, è pronta a ripresentarsi durante la prossima edizione del Salone internazionale, in programma dal 16 al 19 febbraio 2020 a Fiera Milano. PLAYERS DISTRICT si dimostra uno spazio in linea con le tendenze del mercato, che vedono il segmento delle scarpe sportive in crescita: nei primi nove mesi del 2019 le famiglie italiane hanno speso, infatti, il 3,4% in più per questa tipologia di calzatura rispetto allo stesso periodo del 2018, per un totale di circa 750 milioni di Euro di valore e 15,4 milioni di paia vendute, +3,0% (fonte: Confindustria Moda su dati Sita Ricerca). Un ulteriore consolidamento, quindi, dopo gli incrementi superiori al 5%, sia in spesa che quantità, registrati a consuntivo 2018. Insieme alle sneakers, il comparto delle sportive è l’unico ad evidenziare un aumento delle vendite sul mercato interno, da lungo tempo in forte stagnazione.

#micamtales are the new protagonists of the international shoe exhibition: the theme for 2020 - “MICAM in Wonderland” Creativity, dreams and genius: MICAM, the shoe industry’s leading international fair, is poised to transform the world of footwear into a fantasy universe imbued with the enchanted atmosphere of the world’s most famous fairy-tales. The creative idea and direction were curated by the MM Company, with accounting by Laureri Associates, and the theme will accompany the trade show over the coming editions.
