Die A+A, die vom 5. bis 8. November in Düsseldorf stattgefunden hat, gilt als die weltweit größte und wichtigste Veranstaltung, wenn es um Sicherheit und Gesundheit bei der Arbeit geht. Auf einer Fläche von 78.000 qm stellten insgesamt 2.121 Aussteller aus 63 Nationen aus. Insgesamt zog die Messe mehr als 73.000 Fachbesucher, davon die Hälfte aus dem Ausland, an den Rhein.

MICAM Milano introduces two special initiatives targeting China: along with other brands representing Italian style and know-how, it will be an official sponsor of the MonteNapoleone Gala Dinner organised by the MonteNapoleone Fashion District on November 20 at Bulgari Hotel in Shanghai, while on November 21 it will be promoting a special open day for guests and press, offering them a complete preview of next season’s footwear trends and a surprising teaser hinting at what will be in store at the next Micam.
Die ModEurop ColourCard für Frühjahr/Sommer 2021 ist ab sofort beim Deutschen Schuhinstitut in Offenbach erhältlich. Die international gefragte Farbkarte zeigt sich in modernem, übersichtlichem Layout und ist für alle Kreativen der Schuh- und Lederwarenbranche gleichermaßen wichtige Basis und wertvolle Unterstützung bei der Erstellung der neuen Kollektionen. Die einzelnen Farbthemen sind auf drei individuell herausnehmbare Klappkarten aufgeteilt. Alle Farbmuster sind auf einen Blick erkennbar. Sie lassen sich dank praktischer Velcro-Sticker einfach entnehmen und wiedereinsetzen. Hinter den Ledermustern ist die jeweilige Farbe als Farbblock hinterlegt. Die insgesamt 27 Farben für Frühjahr/Sommer 2021 wurden in die drei ModEurop Themen „SENSITIVE“, „IMPULSIVE“ und „CONSTRUCTIVE“ eingearbeitet. Außerdem enthält die ColourCard eine Sonderkarte mit technischen Materialien.
Under the auspice of the European Footwear Confederation (CEC), nine Footwear technology centres from across Europe have agreed to join forces to push forward the footwear research agenda in Europe. Initiated at the occasion of CEC’s General Assembly on 25 November 2019 in Brussels, the platform’s ambition is to further footwear research and knowledge creation collectively in Europe to the benefit of footwear companies.

The European Confederation of the Footwear Industry (CEC) and its project partners from Greece, Spain, Lithuania and Poland have officially launched the Interreg “Success Road” project in Athens on 2nd and 3rdDecember 2019. The project stems from a hard-hitting reality: 30% of SMEs do not survive the transition to the second generation of owners, and only 10% of SMEs can withstand the succession to a third generation. Under the leadership of the Greek Ministry of Development and Investments, this new public-private collaboration will guide and support regional and national authorities from the target countries shape policy instruments that allow textile, clothing and footwear SMEs to better face the succession phase and secure their future after a change of ownership.
