Van Bommel : shoemakers since 1734
Adriaan and Christiaan van Bommel signed a deed in Breda in 1734, from which we know that they were master shoemakers. At Van Bommel we had research carried out to see if there was a shoe factory in Western Europe which goes back further than 1734. The investigation showed that Van Bommel is the Western European shoe factory with the longest tradition. The history of the company has been full of interest. A high point came in 1952 with the granting of a royal warrant "By Appointment to the Royal Court of the Netherlands". These days Van Bommel is a modern, well-equipped concern. The exceptional features of Van Bommel shoes are known all over the world. This has been achieved by a family tradition in which craftsmanship is the key.
