SUMMER TRENDS 2017 Made in Brazil
At the trade show international trends and themes for the 2017 Spring/Summer season are presented in combination with individual Brazilian style and a proprietary twist.
On display will be:
COOL ROMANTIC
Modern luxury – interpreted with a fresh, smart and preppy slant. Neo-romantics with a dash of glamour, playful and decorative, often with a slightly ironic touch but deliberately clean and purist.
Styles/designs: pointed ballerinas, T-straps, tie straps, bows and little straps, 60s-style Cuban heels for sling pumps and court shoes, Mary Janes, slippers and loafers also as mules.
Colours: shell, skin-tone, fango, metal, wood and nude
FANCY GARDENING
Here gardens, flora and fauna serve as an inspiration. Natural, authentic, feminine, fresh, cheerful and colourful are the terms that come to mind with these styles. The materials: linen, cotton, lace, laser-cut leather, raffia, denim, natural leather, embroidery, suede, nubuk or python (embossing)
Styles: mules, babouches (leather slippers), sabots, espadrilles. Add to this Roman sandals, feminine sandals with flower appliqués or floral/ethnic prints or embroidery, ballerinas with Ghilly shoe laces, sneakers with floral prints, distinct diamante appliqués (butterflies, insects...), frills, tassels, pompons….
Colours: geranium, hydrangea, kiwi, lavender, terra, wheat ….
ATHLEISURE
The perfect mixture: Athletic meets Leisure. The result is dynamic, active, sporty. Sports as zeitgeist caught between retro and coolness.
Materials: cotton, synthetics, high-tech materials, metallics, stretch, patent, mesh, denim, suede, nubuk, nappa often featuring striking perforations.
Styles: sneakers – from retro to futurist, slip-ons, hiking shoes, high-top sneakers, basketball styles, (comfy) sandals with wide “bandage” straps, stretch tapes, sturdy soles, Velcro closures. Mules with platforms and broad bandages, block stripes, zippers, letters (messages), fantasy prints.
Colour range: white, black, amarena, Atlantic blue, hi-vis red, olive ….
This time some of the Brazilian footwear specialists will be introducing their innovations to GDS’ expert audience not only at their trade show stands and in the Showcases along the HIGHLIGHT ROUTE in Hall 3 but also at the HIGHSTREET Show held for the first time in Hall 2. Joining the fray are Beira Rio, Cartago, Grendha, Ipanema, Modare, Moleca, Piccadilly, Vizzano and Zaxy.
