Celebrate the past, build the future: Expo Riva Schuh is getting ready to celebrate its 90th edition, paying homage to the history and roots of the event, whilst taking on board both present and future challenges.

The event first came about as a chance for representatives and buyers from the world of footwear to get together whilst on holiday on the shores of Lake Garda. Today, Expo Riva Schuh has grown considerably to become the key international appointment for volume footwear and now provides the leading showcase for all the world’s major production areas. Amongst the 1,400 plus exhibitors, coming from more than 40 different countries, the June 2018 edition will also see the confirmed participation of delegations from India, China and Brazil, in addition to the ranges offered by Italian and other European brands. In an exhibition area of more than 32,000m2, the very best collections for Spring/Summer 2019 will be on display, together with the re-assortment of the 2018/2019 winter season.

The continued disappearance of seasonal barriers along with the early calendar dates have made Expo Riva Schuh the ideal event, capable of responding to the demands of fast fashion, a model that is meeting with increasing success in the fashion business. As a matter of fact, fast fashion companies look for ongoing collections, bringing the production date ever closer to the purchase date and so being able to incorporate the latest trends. For this reason, the ability of Expo Riva Schuh to offer re-assortment or new, smaller production from the previous season, fits perfectly with this fashion logic.

Initiatives geared towards buyers continue with Expo Riva Schuh Around the World, the project aimed at promoting the event in emerging markets and those in a state of growth: next on the list of destinations are France and Vietnam with the objective of involving new countries and offering companies new contacts and new commercial horizons.

The 90th edition of Expo Riva Schuh will also see the debut of Garda-bags, a new exhibition showcasing bags and accessories which will take place in the 2,000m2 plus PalaVela, the recently constructed building right on the shores of Lake Garda, directly linked to the Riva del Garda Congress Centre, the original setting for Expo Riva Schuh. The event aims to respond to the increasing demand for total look solutions and Garda-bags will complete the merchandise offer with a carefully selected range of bags, belts and accessories from exhibitors from Italy, Spain, France, Portugal, China and India.
