The technological know-how of Main Group leads to new highly innovative solutions: Simac Tanning Tech was a major opportunity at global scale which allows the Venetian company, belonging to the Atom group, to present its new production systems, injection moulding applications and automation solutions for the production processes.

The highlight of the Main Group booth was Pragma, the latest series of modular, flexible and user-friendly machines involved in the production of soles directly injected on the upper made of mixed materials (rubber, TPU and compact PU for the tread, PUR for the midsole). At Simac, Pragma will be equipped with a totally integrated management system including the mould-holder, the injectors and the peripheral devices, thus ensuring the utmost production and cycle flexibility together with a high productivity. The machine will also be provided with a vacuum system and a special reactivating lamp with different power zones (heel, centre and toe.)

Pragma operated in synergy with an automated line, which includes two important innovations: a carding robot with automatic tool change and a cutting-edge 3D vision system which alerts the operator in case of failed positioning of the upper. The innovations, developed by the in-house research unit of Main Group Technologies, suggest the customised applications that can be implemented to increase the precision, quality and efficiency of the production systems.

The ultimate novelty unveiled at the show was Etna, a new sprueless injection moulding machine for two-coloured rubber which injects the necessary amount of material in the desired place and vulcanises only the required material. Moreover, the Cento Plus model will be showcased, which ensures the manufacturing of monochrome and two-coloured soles made of compact, expanded and rigid thermoplastic materials (including TPU), featuring also an energy saving system.
