Assocalzaturifici: Exclusive agreement with MOC sets the dates of Moda Made in Italy until 2017

Assocalzaturifici has signed an exclusive agreement with MOC - Munich Order Center - setting the dates of the next five editions of Moda Made In Italy. The agreement is intended to make it easier for dealers and buying groups to plan their agendas, confirming the Sunday through Tuesday schedule for the trade fair.

After September 13 - 15 2015, the spring fair is scheduled for March 13 - 15 2016, followed by the autumn event on September 11 - 13 2016. The dates have already been set for the first half of 2017, too: the spring event will be held March 19 through 21 2017.

The most recent edition of the trade fair, in March, confirmed its importance as the key event in the area for Italian footwear makers. More than 325 brands exhibited their fall/winter 2016 collections in hall 4 in the MOC – Munich Order Center, even more than in March 2014, when 310 brands exhibited. In addition to the growth in the number of exhibitors and brands represented, there was an increase in the number of visitors, up to 1341.

The German market is still showing signs of difficulty, in terms of both orders and payments, despite growth in the past two years.
The figures for the first eleven months of 2014 reveal a 7.3% increase in exports to Germany by value (with largely stable volumes, +0.2%): a positive signal the likes of which has not been seen for several seasons. Although a slowdown in growth is expected for the coming months, for more positive tendential variations we need to look back to 2010, when the industry recovered from the strong declines suffered the previous year. Between January and November 2014 Italy exported 30.2 million pairs of shoes to Germany, generating a total of more than 865 million euro. Among the most interesting figures is an increase in the average price of exported footwear, up +7.1%, confirming a trend that has seen few interruptions in the past twenty years: this positive performance is linked primarily to top-end Italian footwear, still very much appreciated on the German market.

Upcoming editions of Moda Made In Italy will confirm the strong points recent editions have relied on, such as a diversified exhibition formula with showrooms on the first floor and pre-configured stands on the ground floor, further boosting the image and common areas with elements of Italian style and fashion. In addition, the event will offer exhibitors and visitors a number of important services including an Italian buffet, free wi-fi, an intense promotional campaign, incoming hospitality for more than 10,000 dealers from nearby nations and all kinds of promotional initiatives such as encouraging German buying groups to attend.
