"Atom: The Cutting Factory" moves to Pirmasens, where Atom Germany is located, after the success at La Triennale (in Milan) and Castello Sforzesco (in Vigevano - Atom headquarters in Italy) with two events, the first of which is "Kreativvitti", from 5 to 6 April 2017.

Kreativvitti is the first and most important exhibition of cultural and creative industries in Germany, born from the idea that the culture industry is an incentive for the economic development. The show aims at promoting the exchange of ideas and projects among creative professionals, entrepreneurs and representatives of science and industry, through the organization of round tables, workshops, musical events and exhibitions.

"We are happy to bring our exhibition-event also to Germany: we have created a laboratory of ideas and experimentation, which allowed 12 designers to express their creativity, starting from a cut made with the technologies of our machines, now spread around the world - says Giovanni Gaia, President of Atom Group. The exhibition tells a story with a high technological and innovative content, with which we wanted to give a symbolic value to the potential of our cutting systems, used in several production sectors: footwear, leather goods, furniture, automotive and sports accessories, to name a few. "

The exhibition-event, created in 2016 to celebrate 70 years of Atom, a world leader in the production of systems for cutting flexible and semi-rigid materials, offers a creative interpretation of Atom cutting technologies and their versatility, thanks to the interpretation 12 designers and design studios, which created original works using 12 different materials, including wool, cellulose paper felt, rubber, leather and plastic laminate. The result is, therefore, an installation of design objects made with different materials that Atom technologies are capable of cutting.

"It is an honor to host here in Germany the first international stopover of Atom: The Cutting Factory, which takes place as part of such a prestigious event as the Kreativvitti - says Christopher Thornhill, CEO of Atom Germany. This is a special opportunity to reach a wider audience, also unusual for us, thanks to the expressive power of cut, the real protagonist of the show. Every single work brings us in a different world, made of art, culture, design."

Through an original story, it stages a dialogue between industry and design, technological capacity and creativity: all projects explore, in fact, the product creation process, the materials and the interaction between them, within a scenario that combines culture, art, fashion, design and technology, and then aesthetics, complexity and production potential of the Atom systems.

The designers involved in the project are 4P1B Design Studio, Federico Angi, Alessandra Baldereschi, Denise Bonapace, Agustina Bottoni, Giulio Iacchetti, Joe Velluto, Lanzavecchia + Wai, Chiara Moreschi, Lorenzo Palmeri, Studio Sovrappensiero and Martinelli Venezia Studio.

The curatorship of the exhibition is by Giulio Iacchetti and Francesca Molteni, the construction project is curated by Matteo Ragni, while the graphic design is by Leonardo Sonnoli.

"Atom: The Cutting Factory” is scheduled from 5 to 6 April 2017 on the occasion of Kreativvitti in Pirmasens, open from 10am to 7pm, c/o Messe Pirmasens, Hall 6A. For more information: www.kreativvitti.com.

The second event will take place all May long at Der Rheinberger, Fröhnstrasse 8 - 66954 Pirmasens.
